Need To Sell House Fast

What the best way to sell stuff fast when you’re moving and selling a house?

May 1st, 2010

I know that garage sale is the obvious answer, but I live kinda off the beaten track and don’t get alot of people. And furniture you get nothing for. Anybody try consignment? I have alot of furniture. Quality stuff. What about an auction? Or putting it in the paper? There is just so much to do. I also have stock left from a gift store and I have no idea what to do with all this miscellaneous stuff. Help! Which way is best?

I vote for Crailslist.com, you pick the region where you live, the category, and post the ad. You can post up to six pictures for every item, and there is no limit to the amount of stuff you can post. I’ve sold some stuff off craigslist before and it was really easy. It’s confidential too, the person who is interested in your item will write an email and the website will forward it to you.

Put an ad in the paper as a estate sale most people will go to those when they won’t a yard sale.Keeping in mind used is used you can still get good prices for your things good luck.

do you have http://www.craigslist.com by you? I have heard great things about that site! Its like ebay and a garage sale all in one. You could do a diff kind of rummage sale and call it something else so it sounds classier. Print up and send out some flyer’s for friends and relatives saying you are having a sale at your house on a certain day. Put in the flyer that it will be first come first serve, cash and carry stuff and type some of the stuff you will be selling. Maybe add that if they bring someone with them them will get a little gift. That way you will want to bring someone with them!

Check and see if you have a flea market nearby; if so, rent a stall/booth and sell away. I’d put the bigger items in the paper, perhaps in your neighboring town’s paper, also. If you don’t mind selling in lots Ebay would be great; separate clothes by size and trend and list them. Don’t forget that you can donate items and you could probably get a tax write off if you have valuable/pricey pieces. Don’t forget to reasonably price your items; I generally take about 75% off market value and go from there. Sometimes you’ll have to go lower, especially if it’s older or used.
