Low-interest mortgage rates weren’t enough to prop up the Wichita housing market after tax credits ended in April, according to numbers from the Wichita Area Association of Realtors. Wichita sales in May were off 29 percent from a year ago, mimicking a national study that shows written home sales contracts were down 15 to 25 percent in May.
